Welcome

The Roland Crisis Center has been serving Roland and the surrounding communities since 1994. We are open two Saturday mornings a month between 8 and 10. Please review our calendar for our schedule. We will serve anyone who lives within our service area.

The Crisis Center is staffed entirely by volunteers and exists solely on donations. We utilize those donations to purchase food and supplies from the Arkansas Food Bank and local retailers.  Because we can purchase food at greatly reduced prices, a donation of money goes much farther with us than a donation of food. We also provide non-perishable household items and even pet food at no cost when it is available.

Our Mission

To show the love of Christ by serving and feeding those in our community in need of basic necessities.

Our History

In 1994, an adult Sunday school class at Natural Steps Baptist Church in Roland, Arkansas felt God calling them to provide food to needy families in their community. They partnered with several local churches and the Roland Crisis Closet was founded.

Since that time God has provided money and volunteers to allow RCC to serve the community by distributing food, clothing and household items. The location has changed several times – from a room at the local volunteer fire station, to Winfield Methodist Church to a rented double wide trailer in Natural Steps that served as home for 17 years. In 2020 God provided a miracle in that RCC was finally able to purchase land and to build their first permanent home in downtown Roland. The new location opened its doors in July, 2021.

For almost 30 years God has provided people who are willing to give their time and their money to help others. No one has ever been paid. All the donations RCC receives are used for expenses related to the building or for the procurement of food. RCC exists because volunteers unload, sort and stock food and household items. RCC exists because volunteers come two Saturday mornings a month to distribute those items to those in need. RCC exists because volunteers take care of the inside of the building and do the yard work and plant and harvest the garden. RCC exists because the community supports us and provides donations of items that can be given to others. RCC exists because God continues to call people to this ministry.
